Love Each Other

I would introduce myself as a Jack of all trades, Master of none.

During my engineering years, at the end of each semester examinations, on my way back home, I would stop at a local store that carried some basic art supplies. I would return home, overjoyed that there were no more exams left to study for, and I was free to breathe a sigh of relief. I would promptly attempt to paint or copy a painting.

My father, Inderjit Singh Paintal, once had told me not to mistake my career for my hobby. I obtained two degrees and I have to thank my parents for making every sacrifice known to mankind. And as a result, I was most privileged to have worked for four companies during my fifteen years in Austin, TX - Hospice, Dun & Bradstreet, Permond Solutions Group (NCR) and Razorfish (Microsoft).

I have taken a few classes at Laguna Gloria and an informal class at UT, Austin, and have recently attended art workshops in Bangalore, India. I have not received any formal instruction in art, nor do I have any degrees in Art or Art history yet.

I am now entering the next phase of my life and feel a renewed sense of direction and purpose. World Religions and Art History are two subjects that make my eyes twinkle. My friend, Isabelle Goode Deblanc, once commented that my art is 'spiritual'. I like that.

About PaintAll.org

Over the past two decades, helping people has been the most satisfying aspect of every job I have held. Having gained this insight, in 2004, I started an organization called Indigo Creations. My goal at that time was to donate 10% of all proceeds from the sale of artwork by multiple artists to the homeless people of Austin, Texas. I created an online presence using the skills I had acquired, however other priorities and job related and personal matters took center stage until August 2010, when with my son’s help I founded the organization www.PaintAll.org (Under construction).

My pledge is to donate 20% of all profits to an NGO - HelpAge International, which has been voicing the needs of the world’s rapidly aging elderly. Following are some of the issues that affect the elderly:

1.Economic dependency due to lack of income

2.Physical dependency caused by failing health and agility

3.Psychological dependency

4.Social dependency

HelpAge focuses on issues such as pensions, social inclusion and health care to enable them to lead fulfilling lives with dignity.
